DSIP

DSIP (Delta Sleep‑Inducing Peptide) is a neuropeptide, a small protein‑like molecule composed of amino acids. Initially discovered in 1974, it is naturally produced in the hypothalamus of the brain. This peptide is known for its role in sleep regulation and has been found to have various effects on the central nervous system.

The primary function attributed to DSIP is its ability to promote deep sleep and improve sleep patterns. Animal studies have suggested that DSIP can influence sleep architecture, increasing the amount of slow‑wave sleep (SWS) or deep sleep.
